Koa wood, formal name Acacia Koa, is an endemic wood to the Hawaiian Islands. It is currently sustainably grown and harvested in Hawaii, and though expensive due to high demand, it is in no way endangered.

The wood of the Koa tree is highly-prized for its strength, color and stunning wood grains. At the Titanium Ring Shop, we offer Koa wood inlay rings with three different variations of Koa: Fire, Curly and Dark. These offerings encompass the range of colors in naturally occurring Koa wood, with the Fire and Curly Koa typifying the lighter, cream, tan and mid-brown-like colorations and the Dark Koa offering typifying the darker spectrum of colors in natural Koa wood.

Known as an exotic hardwood due to its inherent strength and durability, it has been use since ancient times in Hawaii for dugout canoes and surfboards. Nowadays, Koa is used for high-end furniture, ukuleles, decorative bowls, picture frames and other woodcarving.

Our Koa wood inlay rings are all made from the finest, sustainably harvested Koa wood available. Each piece of wood is carefully selected, maintained and utilized for our rings. After inlaying the Koa wood in a titanium band, or in some of more complex rings, inlaying multiple hardwoods, the ring is then sealed with a special resin that brings out the best of the wood’s color and grain, while protecting the wood so that the ring will last for generations to come.

This ring has about the best of all worlds in a titanium ring – exquisite design with some awesome inlay materials. All the inlays are set in a titanium band. Hawaiian Koa wood creates a luxurious look to the ring with its unique wood grain patterns and coloring. The surfer is made of Yellow gold and the wave is made of Sterling Silver and Blue Opal. Black Onyx creates the background and a stunning Opal completes the ring by adding a rising sun.

Each of these rings are handcrafted by master artisans in the USA with nearly 20 years of experience designing and making custom titanium rings.
