Opal, the birthstone for October, makes for a wonderful material for titanium ring inlays. Opal ranges in color from white to red to black. At the Titanium Ring Shop, we offer titanium rings with White Opal and Black Opal inlays.

Opal is found in many places in the world, but most of the mined gemstone opal originates in Australia. This is primarily the White Opals. In the U.S., there are gemstone Opal fields in Arizona and Idaho. Common Opal has also been found in Asia, African, the Middle East and Central and South America.

Opal has been a treasured gemstone throughout history. The Greeks and Romans are known to have treasured Opals. Queen Victoria is known to have loved the colors and beauty of Opals and amassed quite a collection of Opals and frequently gave them as gifts.

Turquoise has a long history as an ornamental mineral. Found in the relics of Ancient Egyptian, Chinese, European, Native American and Mexican populations, Turquoise has placed a role in many ancient societies. King Tut’s (King Tutankhamen) burial mask is adorned with Turquoise. Many pieces of Aztec jewelry also use Turquoise. It also appears several times in Judeo-Christian scripture, notably, the Book of Exodus.

Turquoise is noted for its blue and green colors. The blue colors come from copper and the green colors come from iron. It is the balance of these two which determine the color.

Turquoise is mined in places where there is a high concentration of copper—Southwest United States, Iran, Sinai Peninsula, China and a host of other countries. Each region’s Turquoise, of course, has different properties and compositions.

The Titanium Ring Shop offers several titanium rings with turquoise inlays. We have two Sea Series rings (#1 and #2) with Turquoise inlays set next to or in waves. We also have several rings with Turquoise and hard wood inlays (#1 #2 #3). For a titanium rings with Blue and Green Turquoise, we offer several selections (#1 #2 #3 #4).

Finding your correct ring size

Getting your correct ring size is, of course, a very important part of ordering a titanium ring online. We have several suggestions.

First, it’s important to know that our rings are all made to the exact specifications of buyer. After the titanium is cut to the correct size and the profile (round or flat) is formed, each inlay material is hand-selected and placed in the ring. The ring sizes are exact and conform to worldwide ring sizing specifications. Titanium rings, though, not easily made larger or smaller, so getting the correct sizing is critical.

We do have a ring sizing guide on our website, which has some excellent information for getting the correct ring size. While our cutout measure has worked well for hundreds of our ring buyers, we still recommend stopping by a local jeweler and getting your a ring size. Typically, a jeweler will have you try on rings until one is unable to fit over your knuckle. Then you will try on rings one-half and one full size larger.

An alternative is to buy an inexpensive ring and wear it for a few days to see how it feels. Our comfort fit, round profile, is probably one of the most comfortable rings you will ever wear, so if your test ring has a flat profile, keep in mind, that our titanium rings will feel extremely comfortable. Using a test ring is also a great way to get someone’s ring size without arising suspicion about the exquisite titanium ring you are about to buy.
