Why are there titanium rings with wood inlays and not gold rings with wood inlays? This is a question we hear at our retail store all the time. The simple reason is that gold used for rings is a relatively soft metal, which means it will not hold an inlay. A gold ring wearer, of course, does not feel any softness or bending of a gold ring, but, over time, gold rings wear and torque so much that any inlay in the gold would dislodge.

The titanium used at the Titanium Ring Shop is a very strong metal, so it will not bend or wear over time. Because of its strength, we are able to inlay wood, gemstones and minerals. We are so confident in the strength and durability of our titanium rings that we have a lifetime materials and craftsmanship guarantee. After over 15 years in the custom-made titanium ring business, we have the know-how and skills to make titanium rings that not only look great, but last forever!

In today’s post, I would like to introduce some of our titanium rings with Koa wood inlays. These rings all have multiple inlays and showcase some of our unique rings.

Can titanium rings be cut off? Absolutely! Titanium rings, just like almost any other metal can be cut off with standard metal cutting tools. While titanium is much stronger than metal per unit of weight, titanium rings are a lot lighter than metal rings. As a result cutting through a titanium ring is just as easy as cutting through any metal ring. We called our local ER and they said they can remove any ring-gold, platinum or titanium-easily.

We have heard from people shopping at traditional jewelry stores that they were told titanium rings could not be cut off. We surmise that they tell shoppers this to frighten them into the more expensive gold rings. Most jewelers don’t have the skills and equipment to work with titanium rings.

So, if you are worried about the ability to cut off a titanium ring in an emergency, don’t!

Like with any ring, removing a titanium ring from a slightly enlarged finger is best accomplished with the old stand-bye:

Soak finger in ice-cold water for five minutes to reduce any swelling. Your finger actually swells during the day, so use cold water to get your finger to the smallest size possible.

Apply lubricant to ring. Olive oil, hand lotion and liquid dish washing detergent work well.

Slowly twist the ring as you pull it off.

The Titanium Ring Shop specializes in unique titanium rings for men and women.
